The Benefits For Semi-Recessed Basin
The benefits for semi-recessed basin
The semi-recessed basins are half way between the countertop basins and the inset basins. This style of basins are partly sunk into a vanity unit or worktop, so that only the rim or the front part of the basin is visible. They can come in different shapes and designs, and with rounded edges or more angular.
Modernized and unique looking
When designing or updating your bathroom it's vital to choose products that are synchronized in terms of style. For the more contemporary side of things, the semi recessed basins are a wonderful way of adding a slice of luxury and elegance. When paired with a premium vanity unit or worktop, this style of basins can really add a degree of modernity that is unachievable with more standard basin and pedestal combinations.
The semi-recessed basins only partially protrude from the surface they are placed on, unlike inset or countertop basins. This results in something that is halfway between the two, and also protrudes out from the edge of the countertop. This creates a very unique and interesting look which works exceptionally well in modern bathrooms as a style feature.
Saving space
The semi-recessed basins sit about three quarters within the vanity unit or worktop and one quarter out. This means the depth of the vanity unit or worktop may be reduced. A shallower vanity unit/worktop is especially handy if you have a tight turning or circulation space between the vanity unit/worktop and a wall or door. This frees up valuable floor space. It also keeps a lot of space free for your cosmetics and products. Using bathroom furniture together with Semi-Recessed wash basins provides ample storage for all those bottles, jars towels and soaps that tend to accumulate in the bathroom.
Practicability
Much like a pedestal basin, they are a good option for young children and people with limited mobility, as you can get closer to the basin to reach the tap without the obstruction of a vanity unit, worktop and cabinet. And this type basins are also easier to clean around and under than a sink which is fully inset or even placed on top of a bathroom cabinet.
There is another practical element and this is that these types of sink can often be placed on the narrowest of countertops, which is great for communal bathrooms where only a type of ‘shelf’ is required than full sink units. This minimal countertop is a great space saver for much smaller environments.
